Plant Varieties

James Hutton Limited has an extensive portfolio of more than 40 plant varieties, many of which are protected by Plant Variety Rights and are available for licensing worldwide. We can also offer a number of associated scientific services including soil analysis, molecular diagnostics, crop trialling and pest management to maximise existing plant varieties and assist with natural plant breeding.

James Hutton Limited would like to talk to any grower interested in licensing any of our fruit portfolio and to companies interested in initiating their own breeding programmes.

Potatoes

Potatoes

The James Hutton Institute is probably the world's largest potato reasearch centre and the Commonwealth Potato Collection has one of the world's most diverse and well-characterised collections of potato germplasm. James Hutton Limited is in the fortunate position to easily access the expertise and facilities of both of these and, through its own experienced team of breeders, can offer commercial potato breeding programmes for both the fresh and processing sectors for customers in the UK or overseas.
